The European žInfrastructures Observatory (www.e-observatory.eu) will be officially unveiled at the e-IRG Workshop organised under the Danish EU Presidency on June 11, 2012, in Copenhagen. The European žInfrastructures Observatory is an on-line platform, offering interactive and user-driven visualisation tools and an extensive set of benchmarking indicators to facilitate multidimensional and polymorphic monitoring and analysis, support fact-based policy and learning and disseminate achievements of electronic infrastructures in Europe and beyond.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the European Infrastructures Observatory (nventory) and the EGI, with the aim to establish a solid and sustainable framework for monitoring the progress of Grid infrastructures and better respond to the strategic need of the Grid community to properly leverage and disseminate EGI’s role and contribution at National and Pan-European level. The Grid infrastructure is a core building block of the European Infrastructures landscape, therefore portraying its development progress in the European Infrastructures Observatory is key for the nventory project.

High-level Infrastructures Experts join the Advisory Board

of the European Infrastructures Observatory

A significant milestone for the materialisation of the European Infrastructures Observatory has been achieved via the formation of a high-level Advisory Board. The European Infrastructures Observatory Advisory Board is a group of experts with different areas of relevance to the observatory, ranging from representatives of Infrastructure policy bodies and Infrastructure projects to individual high-level experts in the field.

The e·nventory project has been launched to underpin the formation of the European e·Infrastructures Observatory, a single-entry-point and one-stop-shop data warehouse, capable of representing multiple primary and convoluted indicators and benchmarks, to assess e·Infrastructures evolution and impact at regional and national level across the European Union and beyond.
